    Breaking: Qatar eager to broaden ties with Iran

    Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Ale-Thani expressed his country’s willingness to promote cooperation with Iran in various fields.

    According to Tasnim news agency, in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Doha on Sunday, the Qatari emir highlighted the significance of the relations and regional cooperation between the two nations.

    He also voiced Qatar’s enthusiasm for enhanced cooperation with Iran.

    Zarif, for his part, hailed the grounds and capacities for the expansion of ties between the two countries.

    He also expounded on Tehran’s regional stances on closer collaboration with the regional countries and the latest developments in the course of negotiations between Iran and the remaining parties to the 2015 nuclear deal.

    Zarif has begun a tour of Qatar and Iraq. He also held talks with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Ale Thani in Doha on Sunday.
