Country’s one of the leading electronics and electrical appliances manufacturers ‘Marcel’ posted 41 percent sales growth in the period of January to October of 2018 compared to the sales of the corresponding period of the previous year.
Thus, the local brand set a target of registering doubled or 82 percent sales growth in next year. To meet the target, Marcel is undertaking massive initiative like starting its next year journey with new logo of the brand, setting up a large space Pavilion in the upcoming 24th Dhaka International Trade Fair to attract buyers to its wide ranges of appliances etc.
Marcel’s Director SM Ashraful Alam disclosed these at a day-long conference titled ‘Meet The New Distributors 2018,’held at its corporate office in the capital on Monday last (November 5).
More than 150 new distributors of the local brand took part in the day-long conference and share their views and ideas on initiating timely and fruitful marketing strategies.
Marcel’s another Director SM Mahbubul Alam inaugurated the conference as the chief guest while the company’s Vice-Chairman SM Nurul Alam Rezvi and other Directors SM Ashraful Alam, SM Monjurul Alam, Zakia Sultana, Tahmina Afrose Tanna and Raisa Sigma Hima were present as special guests. Country’s renowned film actor Amin Khan moderated the function.
The event was addressed, among others, by the company’s Executive Directors Eva Rezwana, Amdadul Hoque Sarker, Nazrul Islam Sarker, SM Zahid Hasan, Humayun Kabir and Md Rayhan, Marcel’s Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Chowdhury Hasan Suhrawardy, Head of Sales Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossen, Head of Marcel Service Management System Md. Mojahidul Islam.
At the conference, SM Nurul Alam Rezvi, Marcel started its journey in 2008 and have captured a remarkable share in the local electronics market.
Once the local electronics market was fully depended on imported products, he said adding that but the fastest growing local manufacturing industry turned Bangladesh into a self-sufficient country in electronics sector.
In near future, Bangladesh would be the capital of world’s electronics market and Marcel will be in a leading position, he noted.
Welcoming the new distributors to Marcel, the company’s Head of Sales Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossen said, Marcel is manufacturing and marketing world-class fridges, televisions, air conditioners and various sorts of home appliances.
Thus, the demands of Marcel products in the local market is going up in every year, he said adding that Marcel next year target is to increase the number of distributors and to achieve doubled sales of growth comparing to the current year’s growth.
During the period of January to October of 2018, a total of 189 distributors were newly joined in Marcel, saying it he mentioned the target of selling out 3.60 lakh units of fridges in next year in the local market.
Head of Marcel Service Management System Md. Mojahidul Islam said they are always trying to deliver swift and best post sales services to the users of Marcel products.
Now, there are 71 service centers and 5 mini service points across the country under the ISO standard service management system, he mentioned.
