Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today categorically said there is no room for identified terrorists, extortionists and land-grabbers in the AL.

The AL general secretary said if there is any bad person in the party they must be ousted as we do not like to see their presence in the organization.

Obaidul Quader urged the party leaders and workers to remain vigilant so that any anti-liberation elements and evil force can enter the party.

He was addressing a meeting of collecting new party members and renewal of the membership of old ones at Rajshahi Medical College Auditorium here as chief guest.

With city unit president of the party AHM Khairuzzaman Liton in the chair, Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Central Organizing Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Member Nurul Islam Thandu, Omor Faruque Chowdhury, MP, Ayen Uddin, MP, Engineer Enamul Haque, MP, and Abdul Wadud Dara, MP, also spoke.

Quader said after recognising the historic 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as part of the world's documentary heritage the UNESCO has proved that Bangabandhu is a world leader, not only the leader of Bangalees.

The historic 7th March speech of the Father of the Nation has been included in the Memory of the World International Register, a list of world's important documentary heritage maintained by the UNESCO.

The AL leader told the meeting that actually Bangabandhu had proclaimed the independence of Bangladesh through the 7th March Speech. "This speech had helped realizing the Banglee nation that an armed struggle against the Pakistani occupation force was a must. Actually freedom-loving Banglee nation had started taking preparation for the armed struggle since the 7th March Speech," he observed. bss
